Coal-gate IS a scam: CBI files FIR against 5 firms

The CBI on Tuesday filed FIRs against five companies in connection with the coal block allocation scam that has brought Parliament to a standstill during the ongoing Monsoon Session.

In its FIR, CBI has named unknown officials in various state governments and the Union coal ministry.

The agency raided 30 locations across the country in connection with the coal-gate scam. The raids were carried out in Nagpur, Dhanbad, Patna, Mumbai, Kolkata and Hyderabad, among others.
