Sandy effect: 8 million without power in 15 states

CNN reports: About 8 million customers are without power in 15 states and the District of Columbia.

Restoration of power to all customers in areas served by overhead power lines could take at least a week; restoring underground lines will take four days, according to Con Edison, which provides power in most of New York City and Westchester County, New York.
