Gadkari storms into Mumbai: I'm ready for a probe

Here's the curtain-raiser to Nitin Gadkari's speech this evening. This is what the BJP president said this morning after arriving in Mumbai.

Addressing the allegations levelled against him by IAC activist Arvind Kejriwal, Gadkari said, "I have no business links or partnership with Sharad Pawar
and Rajya Sabha MP Ajay Sancheti. The charge that I indulged in corruption when I was PWD minister in Maharashtra is totally baseless. In fact, the land I was accused of grabbing is still with Maharashtra Government.

"If you remember, the government had probed the Adarsh and irrigation scams but found nothing against me," says Gadkari.

He also questioned why the government was mum on the allegations levelled against Robert Vadra. "Congress is indulging in smear campaign against me. I'm
ready for a probe, but let Robert Vadra also face probe," he said.
