Chaturvedi's task: To finalise Lokpal draft before session starts
October 30, 2012  12:11
Satyavrat Chaturvedi, chairman of the standing committee of Parliament on Lokpal, is facing a tough time in finalising the draft bill which has to be presented to Parliament during the winter session which begins on November 22.

Chaturvedi's task only became that much more difficult following Anna Hazare and ex-Army chief General VK Singh's combative press conference on Monday in Mumbai on the issue, which has speeded up the deliberations.

Some 21 MPs from various political parties will be meeting in New Delhi today and tomorrow to the wrest the core issue of Lokpal to the ground.

Two rounds of internal discussions were held last week between Chaturvedi and the BJP's Arun Jaitley before a final draft was attempted.
