Mukul Wasnik, Ambika Soni resign from Union Cabinet

Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mukul Balkrishna Wasnik and Minister in charge of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Ambika Soni resigned from the Union Cabinet on Saturday.

Wasnik and Soni met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ahead of the Cabinet reshuffle on Sunday.

"I resigned yesterday and will now work for the party," said Wasnik.

Foreign Minister S M Krishna, who had resigned from the Cabinet on Friday, said he had quit to make way for young people to take over.
