Chandrababu escapes unhurt in stage collapse

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu escaped unhurt when the dais from which he was addressing a gathering collapsed suddenly at Gadwal in Mahbubnagar district tonight.

The make-shift dais collapsed at the end of the publicmeeting, which Chandrababu addressed as part of his ongoing 'Vastunna Meekosam' padayatra (foot march) in Gadwal, as partyworkers tried to climb onto it en masse.

Chandrababu had just then finished his speech and wasabout to leave when the incident happened.

The former chief minister was immediately rescued by alert security personnel.
