Billboards across Mumbai city proudly proclaim that the 'Hunt for the Kingfisher Calendar Girl 2013' is on. The reality show, which will see bikini beauties fight it out to feature in Kingfisher's much-awaited annual swimsuit calendar alongside seasoned models, is slated to start airing on October 29 -- and one of the '2 cool judges' of the series is none other than Sidhartha Mallya himself.

At a time when Kingfisher Airlines' licence has been suspended and its employees left in the lurch without salaries for six months straight, the proud announcement of the calendar seems in particularly bad taste. Several KFA employees have stated in the press that they are in dire financial straits and a staffer's wife even committed suicide in Delhi over the non-payment of wages.

In the meantime, Mallya Jr continues to tweet about the bikini calendar: 'Just spent the morning playing volleyball with 12 bikini clad models on the beach...now I understand why people hate me. HA!'Dr Mallya, on the other hand, left the country aboard his private aircraft over two weeks ago, which many speculate is a bid to escape the ongoing airline crisis.

Whether he attends the Greater Noida Grand Prix in Delhi next weekend remains to be seen.
