Bangladesh leader Khaleda Zia to visit India

Bangladesh Nationalist Party chief and former prime minister Khaleda Zia will visit India on a week-long tour on an invitation from the Indian government.

"She (Zia) was invited previously by Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and later by the then finance minister and now President Pranab Mukherjee. Indian Foreign Minister S M Krishna had recently sent her a letter formally inviting her to visit New Delhi," Zia's press secretary Maruf Kamal Sohel said.

Sohel said Zia will reach New Delhi on November 28 and will call on Mukherjee on the same day. She is also scheduled to hold talks with Dr Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and opposition leader in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj.
