Just in: Baseless allegations dangerous for politics, says the Congress reacting to the Supreme Court order on the rape case against Rahul Gandhi. The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition by Samajwadi Party MLA Kishore Samrite who made allegations, based on a website report, that on December 3, 2006, while on a tour of his constituency in UP Rahul Gandhi along with six friends raped a woman and detained her illegally. The Allahabad High Court earlier dismissed Smrite's petition, ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation probe against him and imposed a cost of Rs50 lakh.
