35 killed in Nigeria violence

More than 35 people were killed overnight following a series of bomb blasts in the northeastern Nigeria by the radical Islamist sect known as Boko Haram. In Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, multiple bombing that rocked the city on Monday killed 10 civilians while in Benue state, herdsmen believed to belong to Fulani community killed 25 persons in Yogbo. 

Eyewitnesses said those killed in Benue were mostly children and women. Residents of the town said more than sixteen explosions punctuated by gunfire echoed Maiduguri, Boko Haram's home state.
