UP minister accused of abducting CMO resigns

Uttar Pradesh minister Vinod Kumar Singh has resigned from his post after it was alleged that he was instrumental in the abduction of the district chief medical officer of Gonda.  

After remaining silent on the issue for more than 24 hours, the ruling Samajwadi Party was forced to act, and has now asked the minister to quit. However, Vinod Kumar Singh told CNN-IBN that he reisgned on moral grounds.
