Earthquake shakes Chilean capital

An earthquake has shaken the Chilean capital, causing people to flee into the streets, but there are no initial reports of damage. 

The University of Chile says the quake had a magnitude of 5.7 and took place at 2:22 pm (1722 GMT). 

It was centered about 84 kilometres from Santiago and 6 kilometres from the city of Los Andes.
