The partial lock-out declared at the Kingfisher Airlines has now been extended till October 7 after the second round of talks between the striking employees and the management held in Delhi failed on Thursday, sources said.

The lock-out was declared on Monday after majority of the employees went on strike protesting the non-payment of salaries for the past seven months and was expected to be lifted on Friday.

On Thursday, the top management of the beleaguered airlines met with the striking employees in Delhi. However, the deadlock continued because the employees demanded full salary payment of the past 7 months, while the management said that they will be unable to pay.

Kingfisher Airlines CEO Sanjay Agarwal and other top officials of the carrier held a meeting with engineers and pilots in Gurgaon to convince them to resume duty. Sources said the management offered March salary to the employees and promised to pay the remaining six months salary once the airlines is recapitalised. This offer was rejected by the engineers and pilots
