Alligator found in a US supermarket

An alligator crawling across the parking lot of a supermarket in New York's Long Island was captured after an alert shopper saw it and called the police, a day after another reptile was spotted in the same area. Officers captured the alligator yesterday.

"They controlled the alligator and held it while waiting for the Nassau Emergency Services Unit," police said. The reptile was later placed in a cage.
