UPA will last full term, bureaucrats told
October 03, 2012  21:43
A correspondent from Delhi reports: According to the buzz in Raisina Hill, Trinamool Congress chief Mamta Banerjee had thundered from Jantar Mantar recently that Lok Sabha polls will be held in March 2013.

Many senior officials heard her live telecast and wondered whether the United Progressive Alliance government will face hurdles in the Winter Session of Parliament. They wondered if the government will go for a full-fledged Union Budget in 2013 or go for a vote-on-account.

But on Wednesday, it was very clearly explained to the bureaucracy that UPA will last its full term and vote-on-account will be held in 2014, not in 2013, as per political interpretation from the highest sources.

Officers, busy with the preparations for the Budget, have heaved a sigh of relief.
