Varun Gandhi to face trial for 2009 hate speech

Varu Gandhi had recently written to the Akhilesh Yadav government requesting them to withdraw the cases in public interest. This is the second hate speech case against him. Gandhi has two other cases against him. One for another alleged hate speech that he made in the Barkheda area and the third case is of an attempt to murder that was lodged against him for the violence that happened soon after his arrest. The trial has already begun in the Barkheda hate speech case, but is yet to start in the case of attempt to murder. -- NDTV.
