Parliament adjourns for the day after Gujral's death

Both the Houses of Parliament were adjourned today after news came in about the demise of former Prime Minister I K Gujral.

Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde made the announcement in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha that Gujral (92) passed away in Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon at 3.31 pm after a multiple-organ failure. After the announcement, the two Houses adjourned for the day as a mark of respect to the departed leader.

Gujral's funeral will be held tomorrow.
