BJP to raise army shortages issue in Parliament

As Army chief Gen Bikram Singh prepares to brief Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the shortages faced by his force, BJP has decided to raise the issue in Parliament and demand answers from the government.

"We have come to know that Army chief Gen Bikram Singh is going to brief the prime minister on the shortage of arms and ammunition being faced by the army. I have given notice for moving a Calling Attention Motion to discuss the issue in the Rajya Sabha," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said.
