PM dinner: Govt, BJP don't come to an agreement
November 22, 2012  22:34
Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's dinner with Bharatiya Janata Party leaders LK Advani, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley was not very fruitful.

There was no agreement between them, as both sides did not budge from their stand.

They, however, discussed political angles of crucial issues. "We heard the government's views, while we put forth our points," said a BJP participant. "We agreed to meet again."

Finance Minister P Chidambaram is said to have agreed to certain proposals on bills and Foreign Direct Investment too figured in the discussions.

Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde and Minister of Urban Development Kamal Nath too were present at the dinner.
