Justin Bieber sweeps American Music Awards with most wins

Canadian pop star Justin Bieber swept the American Music Awards on Sunday, by winning all three categories in which he was nominated, including the night's biggest award, artist of the year, over Rihanna, Katy Perry, Maroon 5 and Drake.

The 18-year-old teen singer pulled his mother, Pattie Malette, onstage to help him accept the top award. "This is my mom. She's little, but she's beautiful,' CBS News quoted him as saying. "I wanted to thank you for always believing in me,' he said, looking at his mom.

Bieber also won favorite pop/rock male artist and favorite pop/rock album for Believe.
