Chaos at Mumbai airport at Santacruz

From a Rediff correspondent: In the wake of Mumbai virtually shutting down for Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray's cremation, chaos prevailed at the domestic airport in Santacruz on Sunday night.

As no pre-paid taxis were plying, autorickshaws and yellow-black taxis had a field day as they tried to make a fast buck.

The airport staff seemed clueless, there were traffic snarls with the stranded vehicles screeching their horns and the passengers were marooned.

Truly, a sorry sight!
