Irish ambassador to India Feilim McLaughlin, who was summoned by the Ministry of External
Affairs today over the death of 31-year-old Savita
Halappanavar, says he will ensure full cooperation in the probe India has asked for. India is awaiting the results of two probes
ordered by Irish authorities in the matter.
Savita Halappanavar had pleaded with doctors in Ireland over three days for an abortion, which was refused because the country was catholic does not allow it. Doctors said they could still feel the baby's heartbeat.
India wants the enquiry to be conducted independently.
