Aung San Suu Kyi arrives in Bangalore

Nobel Peace Laureate and Myanmar's pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi arrived in Bangalore tonight on a two-day visit to the country's IT hub.

She proceeded straight to a seven-star hotel, where she will halt for the night, Deputy Commissioner of Police (VIP Security) A N S Swamy said.

She will leave for Ananthpur district in Andhra Pradesh in a helicopter from HAL airport at 8.45 am for a field visit to see the implementation of Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme projects.
