Shops down shutters; cabs, autos disappear

Rediff.com's Prasanna Zore reports that the situation is peaceful at Malad, but shops have downed shutters. Shopkeepers who have still doing business say they will not down shutters unless specifically asked to do so. Shiv Sainiks have gathered outside shakhas in small numbers, but nobody is really enforcing a bandh. There is notable police presence at Malad railway station and outside mosques.
