China's congress begins closing session

China's ruling Communist Party today began a key meeting to elect a new central committee which would choose a new generation of Chinese leadership for the next decade.

A total of 2,307 delegates and specially invited delegates are attending the 18th National Congress of the CPC being held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

During the session, a new central commission for discipline inspection of the party, which will go into indiscipline and corruption cases, will be elected.
