Meet China's next prime minister

Li Keqiang, currently the vice prime minister of China, is all set to replace Wen Jiabao as the country's premier at the end of the week-long session of the Communist Party of China in Beijing.

Li has always toed a cautious line between demands for democratic reforms and the more conservative outlook of the CPC.

He hails from the notoriously poor region of Anhui province and received his education from Peking University. He is considered to be a protege of President Hu Jintao.
