China beefs up security for key CPC meet

China has created a security 'moat' around capital Beijing to prevent any untoward incidents and to thwart any attempts to hold demonstrations during the key Communist Party Congress to select the new leadership of the country.

Zhou Yongkang, secretary of the Central Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party inspected a security 'moat' project created in areas encircling Beijing for the smooth holding of the 18th Congress on November 8, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
