Australian women are suffering from an eating disorder in middle age, dubbed as 'Desperate Housewives Syndrome', which is driven by the desire to look as thin as celebrities in TV shows. All the TV shows and Hollywood celebrities seem to convey the message that thin is beautiful. Experts agree that the way celebrities portray themselves on screens is putting pressure on ordinary older women to look just as good.

Unfortunately, that's true for a lot of women all over the world. In India it's called the Size Zero syndrome.
