DMK boss M Karunanidhi says the party may pull out of the UPA on the petrol price hike. At a protest meeting in Chennai, Karunanidhi, whose party is a key ally of the UPA, said he would never shy away from speaking on the people's welfare and his duty to the people of Tamil Nadu.

He said he will hold discussions with the UPA, and will leave it to uphold necessary policy decisions, but if a rollback doesn't come through, he may be left with no option but to pull out. He said he hoped the Centre AND the state does not force him to pull out of the UPA.
