NDA calls for bandh on May 31 over petrol price hike

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance has called for a nation-wide bandh on May 31 to protest against the petrol price hike and rising prices.

The government had on Wednesday raised the price of petrol by a steep Rs 7.5 per litre.

"This whole petrol price hike is clearly unreasonable, arbitrary and is condemned as it will put further inflationary pressure and lead to further rise in prices. Life of the common man will become more difficult and miserable," BJP's chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad has said.
