UPA 2 anniv: Mamata, Karuna to skip PM's dinner
May 22, 2012  09:34
Two key allies Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee and DMK supremo K Karunanidhi will not be attending Tuesday's dinner that is being hosted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to celebrate the tird anniversary dinner of the United Progressive Alliance-II.

While Karunanidhi has cited poor health, the West Bengal Chief Minister's decision comes at a time when there is growing uneasiness between her party and the Congress following the Centre's reticence on her demand for a special financial package for the state, reports NDTV.

The government will also release a report card later today to mark the occasion.
