Prez polls: Desperate Sangma may go Independent

NCP leader PA Sangma on Tuesday met Naveen Patnaik and thanked the Odisha chief minister for supporting his candidature as the race to the Presidential election is heating up. Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa and Patnaik's decision to root for PA Sangma as a Presidential candidature.

"If necessary, I'll contest as an independent: Sangma poll candidate was prompted by their "understanding" that Sonia Gandhi would eventually pick a tribal leader as the UPA nominee.
