Today is the 100th anniversary of the birth of Saadat Hasan Manto.

A group of the celebrated Urdu writer's fans is out looking for traces of his life in Mumbai. While Manto is best known for his powerful short stories about the partition of India, he spent the happiest years of his life as a Bollywood groupie, in the 1940s. He wrote scripts and befriended movie stars but left heartbroken when his film industry friends nudged him to Pakistan.
