Facebook takes on Apple, Google; to open own App Centre
May 10, 2012  10:15
Facebook has announced that it will open an App Centre, which will serve as a hub for the site's social apps but won't be a full-blown 'store' in the vein of the iOS App Store or Google Play for Android.

In the coming weeks, people will be able to access the App Centre on the web and in the iOS and Android Facebook apps

The App Center is designed to grow mobile apps that use Facebook -- whether they are on iOS, Android or the mobile web. From the mobile App Centre, users can browse apps that are compatible with their device, and if a mobile app requires installation, they will be sent to download the app from the App Store or Google Play.

To grow your mobile app through the App Centre, your app needs to use Facebook Login.
