Mamata gifts Clinton books on Tagore, Vivekananda

Our Kolkata correspondent tells us that a nine-page report was submitted to Hillary Clinton, which spoke about Trinamool Congress' ascent in Bengal and Mamata Banerjee's political journey starting in the college campus and ending with her becoming the chief minister.

During Hillary Clinton's visit to Kolkata school La Martiniere for Girls' this morning, fashion designer Agnimitra Pal talked to the US Secretary of State on the need to popularise jute textiles in the US.

Clinton welcomed the idea and asked Pal to broach the issue through the Fashion Council of India and promised all assistance to Pal.
