Prez farewell programme up for discussion

Our Delhi sources tell us that the military secretary to the President is scheduled to hold informal discussions with secretaries in the ministries of defence, home
and urban development in the middle of this month. On the agenda is the finalisation of the programme for the farewell to President Prathibha Patil on July 25.

Meanwhile, Trinamool Congress Chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to meet UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi today to discuss the President poll.

Yesterday, Banerjee said that she has not spoken to anyone over the issue, but sources suggest she is not in favour of the Congress's choice Hamid Ansari.
