China: Dalai fomenting extremism, not Buddha's way

Sheela Bhatt adds that China strongly opposed what they believe to be the Dalai Lama's attempt to instigate extreme views and said it was not in tune with the Buddha's teachings. Speaking against self-immolations, China said it once again reminded India that it will not permit Indian territory for political use.

It said it was regrettable that Tibetan activists were creating problems for the Indian government and it appreciated the steps taken to ensure a smooth and safe Brics summit.
