In a televised interview on Monday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee defended India's "federal structure spirit." While she was careful not to go overboard in her criticism of the Congress party -- "They are our number one ally party so it doesn't look nice to say anything" -- she argued that regional parties like hers must be given the respect and political weight they deserve. She explained this in broken English.
