Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has disagreed with Sonia Gandhi''s remark that the Punjab People's Party had weakened the position of the Congress in the recent assembly elections in the state.

Badal said the -- misdeeds of the Congress Party like inflation, corruption, unemployment and the lack of security in the country, were responsible for the reverses suffered by it .

He said the Congress had not made a single contribution to the country.   On Wednesday, Gandhi sought to blame her party's unexpected defeat in Punjab on the newly formed Punjab People''s Party floated by Manpreet Singh Badal, former Punjab finance minister and Parkash Singh Badal''s nephew.
