Uttarakhand: All eyes on independent MLAs

In Uttarakhand, where the Congress has won 31 seats and the BJP has secured 30 seats, all eyes are on the smaller parties and independent candidates as they hold the key to government formation.

Both the national parties will need 36 seats in the 70-member assembly to ensure a simple majority and form the government.
