'Osama's body cremated in US, not buried'

Leaked e-mails from an intelligence analysis firm have suggested that former Al Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden's dead body was actually sent to the United States for cremation.

According to e-mails, Bin Laden's body was transported to the US for cremation after he was killed in a Navy Seals raid in an Abbottabad compound on May 2.

The revelation is in contrast to an earlier Obama administration statement that his body was buried at sea, off the USS Carl Vinson, in accordance with Islamic tradition.

The emails were allegedly obtained by the hacker group from Stratfor, an organisation dealing with the analysis of intelligence and geopolitical intelligence.
