Mamata: Cong can ask me to leave if I'm unwanted
June 14, 2012  16:41

Mamata Banerjee tells CNN IBN that her intention is not to topple the government. "I am not leaving the government. If the party feels I am unwanted they can ask me to leave," says the Trinamool chief.

This statement comes amid the buzz in political circles that the Congress was trying to isolate Mamata by trying to drive a wedge between her Trinamool Congress and Mulayam Singh Yadav's Samajwadi Party.

Banerjee said earlier that there is no reason to participate in the UPA meet tomorrow as decisions have already been made. She said she already knows what's in the UPA's mind, while her stand remains the same --  she will support APJ Kalam and not Pranab Mukherjee. "My stand on Pranab remains the same," said Mamata.
