Just in: Vice Admiral D K Joshi to be the new Navy chief. The government today cleared the appointment of Joshi, who is Western Naval Command chief, as the new Navy chief after Admiral Nirmal Verma retires on August 31. Vice-Admiral Joshi, a specialist in anti-submarine warfare, had assumed command of the Western Naval Command in May last year.
