In a move that clearly reflects the growing proximity between the Congress and the ruling Samajwadi Party, Digvijaya Singh, AICC general secretary in-charge of UP, today said that he won't set up a candidate against Dimple Yadav in the Lok Sabha by-polls.

UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's wife Dimple will file her nomination for the Kannauj Lok Sabha by-polls today.

The parliamentary constituency fell vacant after Akhilesh Yadav resigned from the Lok Sabha after he was sworn in as a member of the UP Legislative Council after becoming the chief minister.

Dimple was the unanimous choice of the Samajwadi Party's parliamentary board that had announced her name after an overwhelming number of party workers demanded that the she be chosen to contest from Kannauj.
