Rollback difficult to defend, states complain at CWC

Rediff.com's Renu Mittal reporting from the CWC meet, which ended a while ago, says there was a great deal of criticism from CWC members against the government particularly on price rise and the petrol hike.

Members want a concrete policy rather than ad hoc and piecemeal discussions. The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Cheninthala says if the goverment needs to hike petrol rates why rollback the prices after the NDA bandh? He says this becomes embarassing and difficult to defend for states.
