Rupee opens stronger against dollar
June 01, 2012  10:09
The rupee on Friday strengthened by 23 paise against the US dollar to 55.85 in early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange market, on the back of euro gains against the American currency overseas.

Dealers said euro's gains against the US dollar in overseas markets and step taken by the RBI to stablise the rupee mainly influenced the trading sentiment.

The rupee had recovered 16 paise against the dollar to close at 56.08 in Thursday's trade.
