Violence continues in Assam, indefinite curfew imposed

The Army continued to stage flag march in the violence affected areas of lower Assam on Wednesday following a clash between Bodos and Muslims which has claimed 40 lives.An indefinite curfew has also been imposed in two districts of Assam's north-west.

On the sixth day of the ethnic violence, the number of people packed into relief camps reached 180,000 even as train services resumed in the disturbed areas. Early on Wednesday, rioters fired on a group of people, killing three. Apart from this, three bodies were found in Chirang district and two in Kokrajhar.
