SC slashes VIP quota for Haj pilgrims

The Supreme Court has reduced the discretionary quota for Haj pilgrims to 440 from 2500. The SC limits allocation of discretionary quota to President,
Vice President, Prime Minister, External Affairs Minister and Haj committee of India. No high court will entertain any petition for registration of Haj pilgrims for 2012, says SC. Details awaited.
