Anna to PM: Khurshid told me to keep meet secret

Anna Hazare writes to the PM saying he met Salman Khurshid, but it was not a secret meeting. Hazare says Khurshid asked him to keep the meeting a secret during which he told him to not to participate in the fast.

Anna acknowledged the meeting at a press conference in his village of Ralegan Siddhi this evening, reports NDTV. Anna denied reports that the meeting was kept "secret" - he said he wanted to wait for the right time to talk about it, and that time is now.

The activist said that Khushid asked to see him and solicited his opinions on the anti-corruption Lokpal Bill that has been stalled in the Rajya Sabha. He claims that Khurshid asked him not to let the media know about their meeting, and said he would organize a meeting for Anna with Congress president Sonia Gandhi and the Prime Minister.

Government sources say that when Khurshid returned to Delhi, he informed Prime Minister that he met Hazare informally.
