Mamata: Did not want to waste votes

The TMC boss had said yesterday that the final decision on her party's stand on Presidential election would be taken three days before the polling date on July 19 -- yesterday. Mamata had asked all her party MPs, MLAs to be present in Kolkata for the Presidential election on July 19.
Mamata says supporting Pranab Mukherjee is a painful decision, but says the TMC has no option, since coalition politics has forced her hand.
She says she wanted APJ Kalam to contest, but he did not get the support of all the parties. The PM has also been informed of the decision to support Pranab, says Mamata.
Ms Banerjee has single-handedly ensured that the Prez polls have been getting all the TRPs.
